About me and my offerings
My journey with Yoga
I started yoga asana practice (the movement) when I was in my early 20’s, about 8 years ago now. I started going to a yoga class at my gym and was then recommended to try hot yoga which, became my obsession for about a year. That was until I went on my first retreat in Thailand where my world opened up to the great wisdom and vastness of yoga philosophy.
Since learning more about the theory, it has come to shape my everyday life. I have found a more connected place in my body and the world around me. Yoga taught me how to find safety and solace within myself, and that everything is interwoven into our human experience.
For me, yoga offers a way to map out and find more centre in this dynamic and confusing life. The richness of this ancient practice, gifted to us from the continent of South East Asia, has so much to offer, so I hope to share some of what it has offered me in my classes.
I have trained in Ashtanga in India, Accessible Restorative Yoga with Jivana Heyman, Women's Yoga with Roots to Rise and Trauma-Informed Yoga in Bristol. I am currently training as a Yoga Therapist with DruYoga, and my learning is forever evolving.
What to expect when you practice with me
My style is exploratory, experimental, and free of boundaries. It is a gentle turning inward and slowing down of the daily pace, a quiet invitation to comfortably explore the aliveness of the mind, body and breath with curiosity, compassion, and care.
Our lives move so fast that I choose to guide at a slower pace, so we can let things unfold and be with the true nature of our bodies.
Every session is a chance to move, breathe, and simply be, exactly as you are. In my classes, there is no “perfect pose” and no one way to practice. You have full autonomy in my classes and I will always give options and modifications. Rest is always encouraged and doesn’t need to be earned so if you need to spend the whole class in a comfortable resting position I will be very happy with that.
In my offerings we will explore movement, breath, and stillness together, letting the body lead us rather than forcing it into a shape. Each moment is an opportunity to listen to what you need, to honour your energy and capacity of that day and letting go of goals or expectations.
